    • I love PDF Xchange viewer. Tons of functionality but has a slight learning curve. May not be the best reader but you can do so much more with it. My cousin‘s work is actually switching from Adobe to Xchange view as their main PDF tool. She works for a large, international HR firm. Pretty cool! You can give it a try.

  1. My prefer reader is PDF-XChange Viewer for long time. I looked for a versatile free reader and have tried some others. But find that PDF-XChange Viewer is the most features and excellent alternative to Adobe. GUI is friendly and customizable. Most of features are available in Free and even full version isn’t expensive. I use free-version and it’s enough for different works with pdfs (even I can fill and send XFA-form to disk or e-mail). “Search” is wonderful and very fast. I can wholeheartedly recommend to try this viewer.

  2. I also use PDF Xchange Viewer. Now why doesn’t the article or the comments have any time stamp on it? Some day this will be an obsolete list, it’d be good to do it anyway.

  3. I like PDF-XChange Viewer. I used to try all of this list but now I’m staying with PDF-XChange and very satisfied its stable, fast and multifunctional work. What a wonder! Excellent free OCR now!

  4. I tried Foxit and Pdf X change, Both are pretty good and are even better than Adobe. Light weight and have most of the features you need. Pdf X change has in fact more features you get in a professional pdf editor version; but of late Foxit improved in version 5.1. Try and see.

  5. PDF-XChange is the best PDF program I have come across. It takes just a few looks around to figure out what you want to do. After that, the program practically runs itself. Seriously, this is better than Foxit, and of coursebetter then Adobe Reader. Wholeheartedly recommended!

  6. I didn’t know these things exist aside from Adobe reader. Thanks for the this share. I got some alternatives when Adobe reader is not available. ^^

  7. The PDF-XChange Viewer has been replaced by the PDF-XChange Editor several years ago. Editor is very similar to old Viewer but much more featured. It’s also free. For editing or creating fillable PDF forms there is extended PDF-XChange Editor Plus (not free, unfortunately, but not expansive, what is good for me). I’ve tried it – works clear and fast. And as I’ve recently found, their new PDF Tools seemed to be a gem for different kind of work with PDFs (and not only).
