Just to point it out: Aequitas means justice, not truth.
In greek it means both actually….
Actually……..no it doesn’t
the latin form can’t be translated to greek
and if we are getting technical Aequitas means equity, not justice…….now, if you want a true Irish translation (gaylic) then go to Ireland,
Aequitas translated to english does mean equity, however in this instance Veritas Aequitas also means Truth and Justice.
and if you’re talking about Irish translations you spelled Gaeilge wrong.
Yeah. so did you. The spelling is Gaelic.
Nope, it’s actually Gaeilge. Gaelic or Goidelic languages are one of the two branches of Insular Celtic languages. The term Gaelic can refer to any of the three languages in that linguistic group – Irish, Manx, or Scottish Gaelic. The word you would use for the Irish language specifically is Gaeilge.
you two are both idiots. you have know idea what truth or justice is. get a life. get an education. go back to school. morons
Aequitas means justice veritas means truth…Guess not everyone is perfect like an Irishmen to know this
less cocky when ur not even right, have u even studied actual latin
Thank you for correcting it!!! It was driving me crazy! It was wrong on every site!!
equality not justice or truth, sorry
“Popular among males.” Lol. I’m a female with Aequitas and Veritas on my shoulder blades. Where’s my shout out? D’;
Love to see a pic of your tats. I’m thinking of getting in the same area.
Here is your SHOUT OUT !!! Go girl !
I am also a female with veritas and aequitas tats and through tumblr I have discovered the majority of the fanbase is female as well.
Nah, girls are just louder/ more outspoken. While the women are shouting out how much they love the saints, the men are out doing gratuitous violence.
I have Aequitas on my right hand and one of my best friends had Veritas on his left.
Don’t think we aren’t doing what you are doing stud. At least not the real women among us. Do you know the taste of blood as do I???
I feel sorry for some of these people, as they’ve misspelled. The correct phrase in Latin is “In nomine Patris et Filii et Spiritus Sancti”. Just a reminder on how it’s good to double check these things first!
veritas is a latin word in its own rite, haha. just because someone tattooed a phrase in latin containing the word for truth (e.g., “techne = veritas”) doesn’t mean it has anything to do with Boondock, kid.
Techne means art, so “ART=TRUTH” (but this “art” is nearly synonymous with “craft” not “fine arts”) Maybe he meant “ARS = VERITAS”?
I love that everyone argues on EVERY SINGLE PAGE you come across online. Why can’t people just let other people be happy and move on with their lives??
um. three of these are screenshots from the actual movie, not tattoos inspired by the film.
(the seventh, eleventh and fourteenth)
I don’t like the tattoo designs at all. Not just my type. But nice sharing.
Virgin Mary tattoo is the one that I like from this collection.
for the record Aequitas actually translates to equality, or fairness…sorry guys lol, i was under the impression that is was justice as well and had a sick tat planned out for it but thankfully took the time to do actual research
Wow the universe must me just overwhelming to you guys compared to the conversation in here. WOW!
