The cartoon universe usually makes little mention of the tattoo world. This is a shame because people who enjoy tattoo artwork are usually drawn into animations because of their unique brand of creativity and lack of boundaries. While most cartoon characters don’t sport any ink, that hasn’t stopped fans from creating their own cartoon pictures of their favorite characters covered from head to toe in tattoos, piercings, punk hairstyles and other counter culture fashions.
Maybe you grew up watching Disney movies and now you can’t relate to them. If so, these cartoon pictures are great for getting yourself reacquainted with some awesome nostalgia. Maybe you thought your favorite bad boy character from the Simpsons could always use some extra edge. If so, then these cartoon pictures are geared directly towards you. Get ready to have your mind blown and your conventions turned completely upside down because you can not unsee these 14 awesome cartoon pictures.
Bart Simpson
Over the course of 25 seasons, Bart Simpson has been a 10 year old for the entire time. The only time we get to see him as an older version of himself is during future episodes. This animation of him shows what he’d look like down on his luck with an awesome vintage design sailor tattoo of Krusty the Clown on his arm.
Peter Pan
Everyone knows that Peter Pan was never going to grow up, but in this cartoon picture of him he aged just a little bit and got some great ink because of it.
Aladdin
Do you think that the movie Aladdin would have worked better if the titular character would have worn a black shirt and had a couple of arm tattoos? If so, we may have gotten a much more calm, cool and collective character to deal with Robin Williams’ manic Genie.
Prince Eric
Here is another emoish portrayal of a Disney prince from “The Little Mermaid.“ Check out his trademark flannel shirt and chest tattoos that look much better than the traditional royal garb.
Winnie the Pooh and Company
Nobody thinks of the Winnie the Pooh gang as an actual gang. But this cartoon picture of the bunch makes them look like a bunch of radical bikers than peaceful forest dwelling creatures.
Winnie the Pooh and Company
Dumbo
Dumbo’s ears made him a laughing stock, so he decided to get a couple of gauges put into them to make the critics think twice about messing with him.
Sideshow Bob
Sideshow Bob is actually one of the few characters on this list who actually has tattoos. He’s spent years in prison obsessing over Bart Simpson and has his own personal motto conveniently inked onto his chest.
Sleeping Beauty
Sleeping Beauty probably won’t be getting too much rest if she is listening to a band like Falling in Reverse, and by the looks of her tattoos it seems like she doesn’t really mind.
Bender
Out of all the characters you would think would get a bunch of face tattoos, Bender from “Futurama“ is the most likely. They really match his devil may care attitude and make him even more bad ass than before.
Mulan
When you think about it, Disney princess Mulan already has a perfect emo hairstyle for girls, all she needed was a couple of tattoos and a pair of thick rimmed glasses to get the look down to a tee.
Ariel
“Under the Sea“ was a classic Disney song, but what would happen if it got a punk rock makeover. We may never know, but this depiction of Ariel from the movie sure does make us wonder.
Mickey Mouse
In this cartoon picture of Mickey Mouse with tattoos, the iconic Disney mascot wears tons of cool symbols all over his body. Most obvious is the Illuminati eye in the middle of his chest, which may be symbolic of the way his company controls huge portions of the media.
Snow White
Snow White was the original bad girl. She ran away from home and lived with 7 strange dudes. It isn’t too shocking to see the raven haired beauty with full sleeve arm tattoos.
Pocahontas
While Native Americans had tattoo rituals of their own, this picture of Pocahontas shows what she might look like with a modern technique. In it she wears an awesome neck tattoo, two arm sleeves and a couple of piercings that make her even more strong and independent than in the movies.
The homages to cartoon characters with tattoos is just the beginning. When technology gets a little better, we may see YouTube videos of these characters living punk rock, emo and alternative lifestyles that will blow our minds even further. For now, we can only speculate about what these tattooed renditions of cartoons are doing and perhaps write a bit of fan fiction to support our theories.
