  1. It will be interesting to see how many of these plugins will still work once Google withdraws its translation API on 1st Dec 2011. Really people need to be looking for a plugin that doesn’t rely on Google. Some translation providers have started to build their own translation engines to limit the interruption to service, which is what Applied language Solutions have been working on. You can get the translation plugin by going to the WordPress admin menu, select Plugins>Add New and searching “Applied Language“.

  2. Many thanks for this usefull article on translation. I am an english to french freelance translator and I would like to say that we need more resources and tips on how doing tranlsation and also the use of thechnology in translation. WordPress blog are an affordable way to communicate. Thanks again. Simon Perreault

  3. Thanks for featuring our GTS Translation plugin. I think that our plugin is one of the best out there. It is guaranteed to increase traffic and ad revenues. It is also one of the only plugins that does not rely on the Google API. Google is terminating the free translate API this year and most of the plugins that rely on Google will not be able to offer all of those languages. Our system is based on a self-owned server and software license and we are not dependent on anyone.

BTW you can check some of the software implemented in our plugin on http://webtranslator.gts-translation.com

  4. In terms of free plugin and themes, WordPress is really fantastic, it is also SEO friendly, if you use WordPress then think half of the SEO work is already done.

  5. Another plugin worth mentioning is qTranslate, which enables the input of professionally translated content into WordPress.

This plugin makes WordPress very multilingual friendly & is even linked with a professional translation agency Live Translation. You can buy your professional German translations or any of 50 languages directly from within WordPress. The plugin displays the price of the translation service for each post/page directly in WordPress.

qTranslate is compatible with many SEO plugins and is well maintained so it is always compatible with recent releases of WordPress.

  6. Nice collection of translation plugins. These plugins will help to grab more readers.
