Top 30 Free But Very Professional Fonts For Everyday Use In 2010

There are so many great free fonts to choose from these days but let’s face it, 99% would never really be used more than once or for a special occasions. Don’t get me wrong, I love the Star Trek font but it’s not going into any of my designs but it’s fun to have. What I need are professional fonts that are tasteful yet have their own style.

Most of the free Professional fonts listed below meet that criteria although a couple would definitely be considered a little over the top.

  1. Whenever I see a post 'Premium like free fonts', I'll leave everything apart and have a glance at it. But most of the times, I would either already have half of the fonts listed or half of it might look great in the post but not where we intend to use. But your collection is brilliant! I downloaded almost all of them.

  2. Kind of a nice list but I've seen it before..
Would be cool to see a list of really unknown but good fonts!
But to keep up the spirit, I must say that I do like Calluna and some others!
    Nice job!

  3. awesome set of resources! thank you for sharing this and doing the research for us all to discover. i will definitely be referencing this time to time.

i just want to add, another excellent resource / place for typography is http://www.pilo.me – it by far is the most complete and solid font forum i have visited. you can definitely find similar resources as you have mentioned here at pilo. anyhow, give it a look if you are a type lover. i think it is invite only or it usually is at least, so good luck getting in. if you do get in, be sure to participate as i know they remove deadbeat users time to time.

thanks again for the excellent links!

  4. Unfortunately, Calluna is not “free.” The entire font family goes for $119.

Not to say it's not worth shelling some money over – but I was ripping my hair out a moment ago, trying to find it for “free.”

  5. Anyone ever wanted an easier way to USE all these fonts in emails, blogs, facebook, websites, and texts? Enter sendfont.com, any font, anywhere, free.

  6. Peter, this is FANTASTIC man. Great collection, exactly what I love. So classy, so functional, so… free! lol. My faves are Champagne + Limousines and Quicksand. I do quite a bit of typograpghy work, and I'm super-psyched to add these to my tools. Slodive rocks!

  7. This is a good post, I stumbled across your story while looking for new lyrics. Thanks for sharing, I’ll be sure to recommend this site to others.

  8. Strangely my web browser doesn’t show this site correctly…unsure as to why this is occurring. Anyway, it was a totally fascinating read, keep up the great work and I shall come back as soon as possible.

  9. Thank Peter, for such a great post, I heartily appreciate your efforts, I too have my own website that offers FREE fonts (http://www.fontzone.net), some of the fonts mentioned in this post were already there but some were not, so with the help of your post I updated my site as well.

    Thanks
